Hawaii Legislators Still Debating Open Carry

Forget concealed carry for the moment. We’re fighting for Open Carry Firearm License. The current Senate bill is to authorize chiefs of police to issue licenses to openly carry firearms.
Current law requires mandatory class, background check, fingerprints to obtain the permit to acquire a firearms permit: Three trips to the police department to legally own a gun. A separate permit is required for each handgun.
It’s a long, ongoing battle.
