NRA-ILA :: New Forest Planning Regulations Will Affect Hunting and Target Shooting

National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action: NRA-ILA :: New Forest Planning Regulations Will Affect Hunting and Target Shooting.

The forest service is construing a new planning rule. Its target? 193 million acres within the National Forest System. Wildlife protection, restoration of forests and grasslands, CLIMATE CHANGE and watershed protection are on the agenda. Evidently there is no requirement for the Forest Service to provide for hunting & shooting in plans.

The (maybe) good thing about the developing new rule is there may be opportunity for hunters and shooters to insist that interests of hunters and shooters be considered.

Will the new planning rule being construed by the Forest Service consider much, if any, importance of forestlands and resources to sportsmen? Check NRA-ILA, then hop over to the government’s planning rule website (www.fs.usda.gov/planningrule) to see if a roundtable will be held near you. If you cannot attend, leave comments for them!

Why do people think they need to go shooting things, anyway?

Yea let’s just make everything owned by the government. God forbid we have fun on our lands or drill for oil. Remember, with a new congress, and a new President so much will be repealed our heads will spin. They won’t even have to read what they are repealing, Jim
