If that is the way he views “true” Islam, he is confusing culture with the faith itself. Some have interpreted Islam in ways that allow oppression and tyranny, but that is not “true” Islam. The Bible also condones abuse of wives, murdering children and killing those considered “non-believers”.

Where conservative Christians often use the story of Lot to condemn homosexuality, they ignore Lot saying in Genesis 19:8: “I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes.”

Misogyny can also be found in the Bible. For instance, the Bible blames Eve (where Quran holds both Adam and Eve responsible). “Let the women learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.” (1 Tim. 2:11-14).

And the Bible has its own verses about killing “un-believers”. “If your own full brother, or your son or daughter, or your beloved wife, or you intimate friend, entices you secretly to serve other gods, whom you and your fathers have not known, gods of any other nations, near at hand or far away, from one end of the earth to the other: do not yield to him or listen to him, nor look with pity upon him, to spare or shield him, but kill him. Your hand shall be the first raised to slay him; the rest of the people shall join in with you. You shall stone him to death, because he sought to lead you astray from the Lord, your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that place of slavery. And all Israel, hearing of this, shall fear and never do such evil as t.his in your midst.” Deuteronomy 13:7-12

I say this not to “retaliate” or look for a fight between Christians and non-Christians. But as Jesus tells us in Matthew 7:3-5: “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.”

Culture is often confused with religion. Considering Islam dictates the culture (and law), it’s easy to think the two are inseparable. In the United States of America, laws that enslave US to any religion are prohibited. The religion of Islam with its foreign god has no regard for the liberty of any individual and demands disregard of whatever doesn’t fall under its enslavement. The concepts of the Christian Bible are the basis for the Liberties we enjoy as American citizens of the United States, for never before in the history of mankind have a people built a country under the tutelage of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jesus. His name was never allah.

Biblical examples of killing unbelievers ended before Mohammed was ever thought to be conceived. Since before the days of the violent slaughter Mohammed’s followers brought, Christians were the ones persecuted and the only time in AD history that war was wrought in the name of the God of Christians was war perpetrated by kings, men of crowns who paid corrupt men wearing crosses. It was not the religion of Christianity that brought war, rather religion was used as the excuse for in the hands of “holy men” people were brainwashed to believe their eternal lives were controlled.

Islam demonstrates religion as law, culture, and worst of all, blatant disregard for the value of life given as a gift by God.

      thank you for your comment.

Campbell Brown shows complete ignorance in the discussion with Franklyn Gram. He’s obviously a stand up guy.
@ Freda cut the crap about comparing Islam, the Koran with the Bible. What you say, and passages may be found but Christians don’t blow people up, kill infidels. Islam is the religion of the sword. You are a believer, an infidel or can choose to be a second class citizen of dehimitude. You missed his point big time, In the U.S. they can’t at this time get away with their true beliefs, check the movement in Mi and Mn with regard to encroaching Sharia Law and Sharia Banking.

This, imho, is the real battle. Sharia reads as Socialism.
